A very warm welcome, sublime scenery, and a perfect setting, if we overlook a rapid during the descent that gave us a taste of death. A rapid with a current that sweeps you to the very depths of the abyss as if a mermaid's tail were about to push you along, and all this without any warning about this section before setting off, even though we drove past it in a minibus and were given details about every part of the descent except for this one. Despite the very kind staff, after explaining the situation, all we were offered as a gesture of goodwill was a 10% discount to risk our lives next time and an invitation to continue the descent. Unless you fancy a taste of hell between noon and 2 pm, AVOID AT ALL COSTS, especially if you have children! We were terrified, and two adults who arrived just after us had the same experience.

We did the 47km circuit with our dog (Bernese Mountain Dog). The canoe was adapted for her. We transported our belongings between the different campsites to keep our canoe light and maximize our enjoyment. We met at 10:00 AM, and a shuttle took us up to Montbrun. For the return trip, a shuttle picked us up. Please note that the return trip was in two stages: first back to Pas de Soucy, then back to La Malène. Don't be surprised; this is perfectly normal. The rental companies work together to facilitate the flow of people, which was very well managed. The team was very helpful and incredibly kind, but remember to ask for information before setting off to navigate the slightly tricky sections. 2 hours to go from Montbrun to Ste Enimie 3 hours to go from Ste Enimie to La Malène 1 hour to reach Pas de Soucy and 1 hour to reach Le Rozier. Have a great trip!

A really well run and organised day. Not the greatest of weather (overcast and a small amount of rain) but the scenery was magnificent and it was warm. Would definitely do it again.
