    • Katalpa Canoe - Paddle on the Tarn, sleep under the stars

At the Le Katalpa campsite in Comprégnac, the Katalpa Canoë team welcomes you every day for an experience that starts on the water and continues on land.

The river, at the heart of the stay

Katalpa Canoë offers kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals for trips down the Tarn River, just 15 minutes from Millau. Suitable for all levels, the site offers various routes ranging from 7 to 24 km, for 2-hour trips to 2-day adventures.

Among the available routes, you can choose short and family-friendly descents like Peyre-Comprégnac, intermediate routes like Millau-Comprégnac or more demanding descents like Millau-Candas.

For adventurers, a two-day route is offered, including an overnight bivouac at the Katalpa campsite. All our routes showcase magnificent landscapes, including the Millau Viaduct and the troglodyte village of Peyre.

      Four concrete options:

      • 7 km — family discovery walk, approximately 2 hours, with no set arrival time
      • 12 km — descent of approximately 4 hours self-supported
      • 18 km — route starting from Comprégnac, return by shuttle (between 5pm and 7pm)
      • 24 km — a sporting course of approximately 6 hours
      • 2 days — bivouac on the banks of the Tarn included

Departure shuttles are provided at 9:30, 11:00, 13:30 and 15:00.

The connection between the two structures is direct and designed with the stayers in mind:

Canoes are available free of charge for campsite guests. For those wishing to venture further afield or on longer routes, rentals are available on-site through katalpacanoe.fr.

The grounds are wooded, shaded and green. A large private beach, unspoiled nature, a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome await you.

      Accommodation available

Fully equipped tiny houses are available from €100 for 2 people (€20 per additional person), with a kitchenette and cooking equipment, a small refrigerator, and two bedrooms with double beds. Cleaning and linens are included. Sanitary facilities are shared with the campsite. Geodesic domes complete the range of unusual accommodations.

A truly wonderful kayaking experience with Katalpa! The manager's availability, flexibility, and kindness, along with his extensive information about the Tarn's wildlife and geography, greatly contributed to making this a truly enchanting day. :) Furthermore, arriving independently at the Katalpa campsite allows you to take your time and fully appreciate the day's paddle between Millau and Comprégnac. We highly recommend it; go for it without hesitation!

Together with the family, 2 children (6 and 8), we took a beautiful trip along the Tarn, 12 km. A nice welcome, with the opportunity to use the facilities. Even though we didn't speak the language, they were very approachable and it was a nice trip to the drop-off point. They shared fun facts and trivia. And all kinds of tips for the road. Good equipment and a reasonable price! Thanks for the wonderful day!
