    • Le Goulu, a restaurant renowned for its regional cuisine for generations in Albi

The name is both amusing and perfectly apt, as you'll find endless delights (and hunger) in this superb establishment located in the heart of the 3-star Grand Hôtel d'Orléans. Open for lunch and dinner depending on the season, this restaurant is a true culinary institution where you can savor local cuisine bursting with the flavors of the Tarn region. Whether you're a hotel guest, a tourist passing through, or a local regular, Le Goulu is the restaurant to book.

A 100% local restaurant with a rich history in the heart of Albi

The story begins five generations ago, when a chef, deeply in love with his region, decided to offer local cuisine with the utmost respect for French culinary traditions. Years later, this passion for cooking remains, faithfully passed down from father to son. It's no surprise, then, that the menu at Le Goulu restaurant showcases regional produce, working with fresh, seasonal ingredients according to the inspiration of the chef and his team. Talented and steeped in a rich gastronomic heritage, he revisits classic French dishes such as tournedos Rossini, sweetbreads, and mixed seafood platters. Whether you choose the set menu or à la carte, the homemade dishes are refined, generous, and delicious, reflecting a family renowned for its commitment to the Tarn region. In a hurry? An express lunch menu is available Monday through Friday.

The daily menu changes every day with options to suit all budgets (3 courses: €19.50 / 2 courses: €15 / 1 course: €13)

An elegant setting to share a good meal in Albi city centre

The restaurant showcases traditional French dishes in a superb dining room at the heart of the 3-star Grand Hôtel d'Orléans. Spacious and bright, it can accommodate up to 200 guests per service, allowing friends, families, couples, or business professionals to gather in small groups or large gatherings in an elegant setting. The contemporary décor is warm and inviting, complemented by a magnificent landscaped terrace overlooking the hotel's swimming pool. Looking for a more intimate spot to enjoy a drink? The service continues at the hotel's piano bar, a cozy and softly lit space where a few musical notes set the mood for the evening. Le Goulu: a culinary tradition that has endured for over 100 years in the heart of Albi.

Did you know? The restaurant is certified "Cuisines Qualité Artisanale" (Artisanal Quality Kitchens).

The rooms are well designed as the toilet is separate from the bathroom. The breakfast buffet for 14 Euro is well worth the price. The staff is very helpful. This is not a crowded city with...
