    • Pastel de la Serre: the elixir of purity from the Land of Plenty

In Cambounet-sur-le-Sor, Pastel de la Serre combines ancestral know-how and high-end cosmetics to offer your skin the very best of the Isatis tinctoria plant. In this sanctuary of the Tarn region, beauty is not achieved through artifice: it draws its strength from a millennia-old plant, cultivated and processed on-site to guarantee 100% traceability and absolute purity.

The excellence of a rare and artisanal oil

Woad is an indigo-bearing plant, whose sap reveals its blue color upon contact with oxygen. However, this magic comes at a price: patience. While synthetic solutions or exotic varieties flood the market at low prices, locally grown woad demands extreme care.

Did you know? It takes a ton of leaves to extract just one kilo of pure pigment.

Far removed from industrial standards using chemical solvents, this estate favors cold-pressed extraction. This gentle process yields a vibrant woad oil, rich in essential fatty acids and of unparalleled freshness.

      Two skincare rituals to discover

This quest for perfection is reflected in two flagship products:

      • The Roll-on Elixir (5ml and 10ml): a pure and concentrated oil, a true soothing concentrate for sensitive skin. Its practical format allows for targeted and deep regeneration of skin comfort.
      • The soap: handcrafted in collaboration with the Oppidum soap factory, this cleansing product is a true feat. Unlike traditional soaps where pastel colors fade, this soap preserves the pigment's vibrancy. The company even guarantees that 100% of the pigment used comes from its own production. Multifunctional (body, face, beard), it offers a creamy lather that respects the skin's hydrolipidic film.

A beauty secret in the heart of the Tarn

Choosing Pastel de la Serre means opting for ethical and indelible beauty. The estate is the only facility in Europe where visitors can experience total immersion: from cultivation in the garden to pigment extraction.

While the name “pastel” is often used on industrial labels, here you can be certain of a product where every drop tells the story of the Land of Plenty. Take advantage of your visit to discover the only living Pastel Museum and understand why this historic plant remains an essential wellness ally in the 21st century.

A wonderful experience, we came away with scarves in unique colors and the conviction that this type of artisanal initiative that showcases know-how has a future ahead of it. Bruno and Régine are very friendly and passionate, a project to support!

Awesome experience! Bruno and Régine generously share their expertise, knowledge, and passion for pastel. During the tour and dyeing activity, we learned about the historical importance of pastel for the region, the extraction process, and how to dye your own scarf, t-shirt, and scrunchie, all with people who are as friendly as they are passionate about their craft. We were all delighted and will definitely come back to say hello if we are in the area!

We took the guided tour which was very interesting and informative. Bruno Berthoumieux is fascinating and doesn't care about the time spent with visitors. After the tour, you can dye a scarf yourself; unfortunately, we didn't have time to do it, but it is possible to buy finished products, of course.
