    • The Gardens of the Angel, one of the most beautiful botanical flower parks in the Tarn

The beauty of this garden surpasses all imagination, with its many flowerbeds, centuries-old trees, and plants from all corners of the world. A meticulously arranged ecosystem offers a nature walk at the foot of the Montagne Noire. At the heart of this lush and poetic vegetation, the Château de Verdalle, built of river stone, accentuates the elegance of this timeless place, a jewel of the past surrounded by the magnificent Jardins de l'Ange (between Castres and Mazamet, in the middle of the triangle formed by Toulouse, Albi, and Carcassonne).

Whether you're alone, as a couple, with friends, or with family, it doesn't matter; you'll be immersed in a world created as much to amaze you as to soothe you. You'll follow in the footsteps of the Angel through the many colorful and fragrant gardens of this magnificent botanical park. An invitation conducive to exploration as well as contemplation, filled with spaces for play and relaxation.

From wonder to the awakening of the senses

The Gardens of the Angel offer a succession of magnificent themed gardens, bringing together 420 varieties of roses and more than 4,000 species of trees, plants, and flowers … From an English garden to a Zen garden, passing through a Mediterranean garden and others, the change of scenery is surprising and sometimes breathtaking. The seasons renew the scenes of a nature in perpetual transformation – colors and scents skillfully take over to offer an infinite palette to discover through our senses. Walking barefoot on the grass and rose petals or immersing oneself in the sound of the grand carillon becomes the essential experience of this garden unlike any other. A garden that is much more than a garden, according to visitors…

      When art marries Mother Nature

Artistic gems and decorations, judiciously scattered throughout the gardens, offer visitors a joyful and inspiring respite. The garden's creator presents an ode to Life and inevitably touches the soul with her poetry; her Flower of Light is a testament to this. As you wander through the gardens, you will also discover works by ceramic artist Martine Cassar, whose exquisite craftsmanship and originality will surprise you.

      Preserved biodiversity

Nature and environmental protection are a priority here. The ponds and small marsh are home to fish, including the famous Koi carp, and attract numerous endemic species – frogs, dragonflies, water snakes, lizards, and salamanders thrive in this paradise. Goats, tortoises, and doves perfectly complete this magnificent living scene.

Spaces designed for relaxation or rejuvenation

Numerous benches scattered throughout the gardens invite visitors to pause and escape the daily grind, or to read in the shade of ancient trees. Contemplating, refocusing, or simply enjoying the peace and quiet becomes essential for everyone's well-being.

Feel free to bring your picnic lunch to enjoy in the shade of the "Medieval Table," a little nod to a journey through time… A magnificent shaded terrace also offers the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing drink, a hot beverage, or a sweet treat after an unforgettable stroll through the Angel Gardens. Your children will happily take advantage of the dedicated play area.

      The little extra

Every Sunday morning at 11:00 AM, the owner opens the private chapel of the castle and invites visitors who wish to participate in a time of silent meditation and prayer under the light of candles and magnificent stained glass windows.

Information : Events, conferences and workshops are organised throughout the year such as the famous Rose Festival in May.
