Arriving very early from Montpellier, we started the day at the little café "ô Terradou" outside the park, where the welcome was friendly and welcoming. Ten minutes before the park opened (9:50), I tried to locate the entrance. Unpleasant surprise: no clear signage. Two closed gates, no visible "Entrance" sign, and nowhere really sheltered to wait with my 5-year-old son in this cold. Seeing an empty corridor marked "Entrance" behind a window on the other side of the path, I thought I could wait a few minutes inside. Fatal error: a visibly irritated employee arrived and curtly asked us to leave immediately. I understand the rules, but not the manner. My son, taken aback, asked me: "Why is the lady scolding us if we've only just arrived?" A frosty welcome that left a bitter taste from the start. Perhaps leaving this small hall open, as it's sheltered and offers seating, could make the wait more pleasant and avoid scolding lost (and non-French-speaking) visitors. Fortunately, the rest of the visit raised the bar. The stick insect room and the carnivorous plant room are fascinating, and the staff in the care/breeding section deserve my utmost admiration 🐛🦋 The insect carnival walk was enjoyable! But it's a shame that this fine effort was marred by a general lack of enthusiasm, signage, and friendliness. It feels like an interesting structure, but one that clearly lacks human warmth. The special Halloween activity, "The Witch's Riddle," didn't help improve the image: the entertainment could have been great because my son was very motivated to solve the riddle and meet the witch. But the lack of energy of the young girl who was supposed to be the witch ruined the encounter. She seemed disappointed and unaccustomed to the excitement of young children. My son was given a small candy worthy of a restaurant counter... and I was met with a harsh remark because I took one: "Candy is only for children." Sad Halloween at Micropolis Response to the Micropolis team's explanations: 1) There are no access barriers, which we "cavalierly crossed." Upon arriving, there are three paths, one of which clearly leads to a children's park with a "bee" motif and which seems more sheltered and which, behind the glass, was marked "entrance." For a visitor arriving for the first time on the site, it's natural to think: "Oh, we must have made a mistake, let's go back to the upper path." It's up to you to clarify the signage, because what you call "entrance" more accurately refers to the entrance to the souvenir shop. If you choose to treat visitors as "disrespectful rebels" rather than putting yourself in their shoes to improve signage, provide a pleasant waiting area in cold weather and demonstrate a genuine sense of welcome towards families, that raises questions.

Very nice museum for adults and children alike. Keeps you busy in the rain... We weren't able to enjoy the outside, which looks very nice.
