    • Sévérac-le-Château is a gem of Aveyron heritage. This former commune, now part of the new commune of Sévérac d'Aveyron, is famous for its castle and its medieval town.

      A bit of history

      An impregnable fortress

Situated on a hill overlooking the Aveyron valley, Sévérac Castle was a stronghold since Antiquity. It has been remodeled over the centuries, combining medieval and Renaissance elements.

Today, visit the castle and its different rooms. Don't miss the panoramic view of the valley. In summer, it hosts a sound and light show that highlights its history.

      A medieval city

At the foot of the castle, the town has developed, protected by ramparts whose remains can still be admired. Its narrow streets and characterful houses make it a place full of charm. Likewise, soak up its old-world atmosphere by pushing open the door of the craft shops.
