  My stay at the Mercure Albi was a mixed bag. While the view is undeniably the hotel's strongest point, its overall quality has its limitations. Indeed, a glaring lack of maintenance is evident from the moment you arrive in the parking lot (overgrown weeds, deteriorated asphalt, damaged walls), although the semi-secure parking with barriers and a room access pass is a definite plus. The hallways also show signs of wear and tear, even though a renovation seems imminent. In the rooms, for a four-star hotel, the lack of thoughtful touches (empty refrigerator), the presence of plastic cups, the shower curtain, and the absence of a safe are somewhat disappointing. Adjusting the air conditioning is difficult, even risky, and condensation appears on the windows. Adding to the problem is the door's closure: it doesn't latch automatically, requiring a firm slam to ensure it's shut, which creates an avoidable noise. As for nighttime comfort, the soundproofing is inadequate: noise from the neighbors travels directly through a utility duct, while the bathroom mirror's nightlight is too bright, bathing the room in an annoying glow. Finally, the lack of Chromecast is worth noting, even though the Philips TV's Ambilight system offers a real visual advantage. While these technical shortcomings are undeniable, the bar's charm, the quality of the restaurant, and the friendly staff help to offset these shortcomings and make the overall experience less negative.
