The history of the Castan family is incredible since it begins in 1941 with Gilbert and his son Jacques who crisscross the Tarn to distill the fruits of the inhabitants with a traveling still. With the desire to perpetuate the traditions and this particular know-how, Sébastien, the 3rd generation of the family, takes up the torch and builds a fruit and whisky distillery accompanied by his wife Céline in 2007. The result? Delicious whiskies made with barley grown on the estate, exceptional vintages with fruity or peaty flavors to be enjoyed as an aperitif or digestive.

Discover all the secrets of the manufacture of this wonderful amber liquid that delights the palate! Throughout the year and by reservation, Sébastien and his team offer guided tours lasting an hour and a half followed by a tasting of 5 Single Malt Whiskies. With family, lovers or friends, experience a unique moment in a peaty atmosphere, the tours can accommodate up to 50 curious people or whisky lovers. Grain cultivation, brewing, fermentation, distillation, aging or bottling, you will have the chance to understand all the stages of whisky production, each carried out on the estate. Master Classes are also organized and led by Sébastien the distiller who will present his profession and the exceptional vintages for 2 exciting hours before an explained tasting . Meet in the heart of the barrels and copper for a special moment.

The little extras: a shop on site and in Albi (the Distillerie Albigeoise) where you can find gins and spirits from the Distillerie Castan, as well as beers and aperitifs.
