      A bit of history

Puylaurens played an important role in the history of Protestantism. It is also here that the man who first gave the name “Marianne” to the Republic was born.

In the 16th century, Puylaurens was a fortified city that prospered thanks to the cultivation of pastel, which made the region rich.

Dominating the town, the medieval castle of Cap de Castel is today a hotel and a restaurant.
