Najac... Steep and crowned by its castle... Surrounded by greenery, like on a raft among the trees. Take on the castle and fortress of Najac, built by Alphonse de Poitiers (who founded Villefranche not far away). Terrible place of incarceration of the Templars, it remains well preserved, you can walk near its keep, along its narrow corridors and enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Aveyron valley at the top (after a hell of a climb! ). The village of Najac offers a pleasant walk where you can admire the Saint-Jean-d'Evangelist church, the fortified entrance to the town via the Porte de la Pique, several beautiful houses (of the Governor, of the Sénéchal) and the pretty Fountain of the Consuls.
