Castle of Mauriac Stay in a Templar castle in the heart of the vineyards in Gaillac

Located in the heart of the Gaillac vineyards between Albi and Toulouse, the Château de Mauriac was founded in 1214 by the Templar Guiriaudus de Mauriaco, which gave rise to the Château de Mauriac.

It has been ranked among the fifty most beautiful private residences in France because it is fully furnished. It is a Pastel farm, which cultivated woad until the 17th century. Woad was used to dye clothes blue and was made into balls called "coques," which gave rise to the name "Pays de Cocagne" (Land of Plenty).

Bed and breakfast : 5 rooms available with period four-poster beds. Rooms range from 40 m² to 120 m² (rates from €110 to €230 per night including breakfast).

You sleep in the castle itself in the apartments of the former lords (VIP tour of the castle included).

Weddings :
Luxury weddings for up to 250 guests with the option of holding the ceremony on-site. The wedding takes place inside the castle itself. Accommodation for 25 guests is available in four-poster beds. Cocktail reception in the 5,000 m² castle grounds. Dinner in the 400 m² inner courtyard with a central dance floor. Alternatively, in case of rain, 300 m² of indoor spaces are available.

Visit :
Duration 1 hour, adult price €9, group price (10+ people) €6. Open from Easter to All Saints' Day, 7 days a week, from 3 pm to 6 pm (last entry 5 pm). Please note that Saturdays are closed due to weddings (call ahead). From All Saints' Day to Easter (winter hours), open Sundays from 3 pm to 6 pm. Groups by appointment.
