Castelnau-de-Montmiral is a jewel of the Tarn, classified among the “ Most Beautiful Villages of France ”. It is located very close to Puycelsi, also labeled.

A bit of history

Founded by the Count of Toulouse Raymond VII, Castelnau-de-Montmiral is an Albigensian bastide, that is to say a new town built in the Middle Ages according to an orthogonal plan. Its name literally means “ new castle on the hill ”. Its strategic location made it a renowned stronghold, built on a limestone peak.
