    • Castelnau-de-Montmiral is a jewel of the Tarn, classified among the “ Most Beautiful Villages of France ”. It is located very close to Puycelsi, also labeled.


      A bit of history

      Founded by the Count of Toulouse Raymond VII, Castelnau-de-Montmiral is an Albigensian bastide, that is to say a new town built in the Middle Ages according to an orthogonal plan. Its name literally means “ new castle on the hill ”. Its strategic location made it a renowned stronghold, built on a limestone peak.


      The charm of a country house

      • Architecture : half-timbered houses, covered market square... Everything recalls the typical decor of country houses.
      • Heritage : the Notre-Dame de l'Assomption church, with its reliquary cross of the Counts of Armagnac, is a real treasure.
      • Panoramic view : from the central square of the arcades, enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Vère valley and the Grésigne state forest.

    Came on a Sunday and was very well received by the person at reception. Smiling, very pleasant and full of good advice. A most appreciable welcome. The office site is also very pretty with an interesting exhibition on the town of Castelnau
