  • English
    • Salvagnac is a village in the Tarn, located on the border with Aveyron. It offers a unique blend of history, heritage and bucolic landscapes.

      A bit of history

Founded in the 13th century on the foundations of a Benedictine priory, Salvagnac was once a fortified town with a castle. Unfortunately, the wars of religion left few traces of this medieval heritage. Despite this, the castle towers still exist and bear witness to this tumultuous past.

      A hilltop village

Set on a hill, Salvagnac has a breathtaking view of the Tescou plain. It is a real island of greenery, where stone houses nestle against each other.

The charm of a country house

The town is often compared to a fortified town, with its narrow streets and lively squares. The grain market, for example, is an essential meeting place for locals.

      A rich heritage

In addition to the remains of the castle, Salvagnac is also home to a Romanesque church, Notre-Dame de l'Assomption. The latter is a true architectural gem, with its bell tower and colorful stained glass windows.
