    • Over the past 50 years, Onet-le-Château has experienced a huge demographic boom! 10,000 additional inhabitants, for this municipality which is now the 4th most populated in the department. But what happened? It is the proximity of Rodez (itself expanding), which explains why the local economic and commercial fabric has become denser (as well as the establishment of a factory producing many jobs). Having become a leisure and activity area, but also a residential area, Onet-le-Château is in a virtuous circle, which also affects the tourist sector.

      The heritage of the town consists of the Saint-Joseph-l'Artisan church, but also and above all no less than 25 castles in the town (most private or in ruins, that said). The castle of Onet village is a historic monument in the heart of the town. It dates from the 13th century.
