The site of Mauvers-les Bordes Nature Reserves in Verdun-sur-Garonne

The site of Mauvers-les Bordes is a natural space built on the old bed of the Garonne, in the town of Grisolles, near Verdun-sur-Garonne. It is located on the borders of Tarn-et-Garonne, near Haute-Garonne. These floodable banks of the Garonne form a humid environment, with a very rich biodiversity. The area is also protected by a classification as a “Natura 2000” natural area. In particular, you will see many birds, especially waders, warblers and herons.

A small hiking loop allows you to discover the places. The circuit is short (less than 2 km) but it takes you along the Garonne, through the forest and through fields. It is a very nice walk to do with the family. The track is also cycle-friendly and animals are allowed. The site deserves that we linger there and that we take the time to observe the specific fauna and flora. Don't forget your binoculars!
