The Trail "In the Footsteps of the Wild Child" Nature Reserves in Lacaune

The “In the Footsteps of the Wild Child” trail is a discovery trail in the Lacaune State Forest. The town is located east of the Tarn, near the Hérault. The name of this path refers to an ancient story. In 1798, residents of Lacaune found by chance a child barely 12 years old, living alone in the woods. Considered a wild beast, he will be captured, shown at fairs, before being adopted by a country doctor who will raise him. Much later, François Truffaut will draw inspiration from these facts to make his film "The Wild Child".

This walk is dotted with information panels and points of activities, to do with the family. It is therefore very playful and will show you how Victor was able to survive in the middle of the forest. It is a very pleasant homecoming to see the forest environment in a new light. This course is intended to be natural and therefore undeveloped. It is not accessible to strollers and people with reduced mobility. It is better to bring good shoes.
