Take a trip through the Lamothe-Cadillac museum.

The Lamothe-Cadillac museum, an atypical life exhibited in Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave.

Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave is a rescue created in 1135 by the Abbot of Moissac Abbey. On the parish register, the baptism of Antoine Laumet is recorded on the date of March 10, 1658, five days after the birth of the man who would become Lamothe-Cadillac. Within a wealthy family , with a grandfather Péchahut, a rich merchant and a father, a judge in the service of the Abbot of Moissac Abbey, he was educated among the monks of Moissac and Montauban. His family's financial difficulties led him to the army then to New France in 1683 where he called himself Chevalier de Lamothe-Cadillac. In 1701 he founded Fort Ponchartrain in the name of King Louis XIV on a strategic point between Mec Erie and Lake Huron which would become the city of Detroit (Michigan-USA).

The Lamothe-Cadillac museum, a lively place to discover in Tarn-et-Garonne.

The story is not over since in 1901, General Motors decided to give the name " Cadillac " to its most prestigious automobile to associate itself with the celebrations of the bicentenary of the founding of Detroit, in honor of the who gave birth to her. Since the 90s, the adventures of Antoine Laumet have been told in his birthplace, at the Lamothe-Cadillac Museum. New this year is the creation of an escape game organized in the very heart of the Museum, ideal for having fun with family or friends.
