Quercy des Îles

The history of Quercy des Îles begins at the start of the 21st century on the heights of the town of Moissac.

Edouard BOURREAU discovers here the golden pearl, famous fruit born from the lands of Quercy : the Chasselas of Moissac.

A true genius passionate about gastronomy and oenology, his creative spirit encouraged him to assemble rare and precious products. Equipped with a small press of 20 liters at the start, and after having made 1001 tests, Edouard mixes 4 French ingredients, all natural and under an official PDO quality sign, coming from 4 heavenly regions : Chasselas Doré du Quercy, rum flamboyant from Martinique, the exceptional vanilla from Tahiti, the Espelette pepper with the character of the Basque Country.

Edouard BOURREAU does not imagine at this moment that he has just discovered what will become the flagship aperitif of the southwest. A daring recipe kept secret even today, whose alliance of flavors and aromas gives birth to Quercy des Îles.

Edouard quickly surrounded himself with a team of friends, no less than 31 partners ! But he himself ensures the referencing of the product and its marketing.

As of 2010, 20,000 bottles were sold, mainly on short and specialized circuits : in the shops of the villages of Quercy and its surroundings, at wine merchants, in delicatessens, in bars and restaurants.

In 2015, 30,000 bottles were sold, a real success for its creator who then decided to pass the torch with the hope of a new development.

On May 31, 2016, Édouard officially passed on the baton of his craft business, while remaining involved for a year to ensure a good transition and deliver his little manufacturing secrets.

At the end of 2016, the Quercy des Îles moved to a place called Le Bousquet, in Montaigu-de-Quercy (30 kilometers north of Moissac, north of the department of Tarn-et-Garonne, Occitanie region). A new adventure begins.
