    • Auberge Lou Castel, an authentic place to stay in the Tarn

It is in the heart of the pretty village of Nages, next to the Château du Comte de Thézan built in the 14th century that you will have the privilege of staying for a night or for a few days. Elegant and all in stone, the Auberge Lou Castel is a traditional restaurant, but also a place to rest with a few rooms available upstairs. Take a relaxing break in complete serenity, the welcome is very warm and the cuisine delicious.

      Comfortable rooms for resting

Just like the inn, the rooms are authentic with the character of the stone which brings a peaceful atmosphere. Simple, but carefully decorated, they are ideal for a stopover during a stay in the Tarn. You can then visit the village of Nages and the castle towers on foot, discover the church and its frescoes by Greschny, but also go for a swim at the leisure center of Lake Laouzas 10 minutes away or escape to the magnificent Regional Natural Park of Haut-Languedoc.

Single room rate: from €50 to €80

Double room rate: from €100 to €160

A restaurant serving local cuisine in the Tarn

What a pleasure to be welcomed in a friendly atmosphere, almost like at home, to experience a pleasant stay in the medieval village of Nages. Once settled in your room, your hosts invite you to taste their specialties such as calf's head or lamb shank. Generous with the flavors of the region, the recipes are homemade with fresh, local ( as much as possible ) and seasonal products, offered à la carte or as a lunch formula from Monday to Friday. Sit on the magnificent shaded terrace in summer and in front of the large fireplace in winter to enjoy yourself, concerts are even organized in summer.

Enjoy your stay at Auberge Lou Castel!

Absolutely essential! Pure bliss! Probably the best restaurant we've ever been to! We ended up having two meals there, two days apart (during a four-day stay in the area). The dishes are mostly classics, but what a success! Everything is excellent, the cooking is perfect, even the fries are perfect! (We're not usually big fans of fries because for years they've consistently been a disaster, or even inedible.) It's a real inn, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The incredibly friendly owners are truly passionate and put their heart and soul into this kitchen and this inn. 😍 The ingredients are high-quality, and the cooking is just right. Special mention also goes to the desserts (which we rarely enjoy usually), which are absolutely perfect! During our second meal, we ordered four for two people so we could try them all! If we're ever back in the area, we'll definitely return with great pleasure! Don't hesitate!!! (I think the owners will recognize us when they read this review; thank you again!)
