Ohhh!! The hot springs in the aveyron! Have you heard of it?

Cransac
Ohhh!! The hot spring ...

During your holidays in the Aveyron, you want to relax! You are here to enjoy the beautiful landscapes, tourist and sports facilities, on one hand, but you are also here to relax, aren’t you? Enjoy the hot springs in a thermal village filled with quality facilities! Spa, massages, hot spring, in other words....feet up!

The wealthy underground of Cransac

There is much more in the Aveyron that what appears on the "surface": Not only there are superb varied landscapes, mountain regions, high plateaus ... But also, the underground hides an unsuspected wealth of thermal waters! The Aveyron does not come first to mind for spa treatment however, Cransac is a small village in the north of the department, close to Decazeville, famous for this type of stay.

Decazeville...Of course! This is where we can find many coal deposits, the coal mines made the commune prosper during the Industrial Revolution! The link is made: Coal = Underground heat = thermal waters!

At first, Cransac was a small village famous for its waters, but the facilities had nothing to do with proper tourism... A few cabins, for the pleasure of the local inhabitants and visitors... Then, at the end of the 19th century, beginning/middle of 20th century, came the Industrial Revolution! The population grew from 500 to 7,000 inhabitants as a mining region. The thermal waters of the region were put aside. Coal brought stupendous but short-lived prosperity; the arrival of oil made coal mining economically unviable, leading to the closure of the mines in 1961.

Everybody was now wracking their brain in order not to lose the economic upturn and find a new purpose for those who had lost their jobs. It is when the thermal waters became precious again: balneology was revived and became a real tourist, wellbeing and economical resource for Cransac. In 2012, the town is listed “Station de Tourisme” (Tourism Resort) and since then, it has been awaiting you...

Have a spa treatment in Cransac, either for pleasure or health reasons.

In Cransac, the thermal institute is modern and attractive, it belongs to the Chaîne Thermale du Soleil, France’s leading spa treatment provider ... You are in good hands; here, there is a forest all around you and the hot natural gases released by the "Montagne qui brûle" (the Burning Mountain”) are excellent for rheumatisms, backache and wellbeing in general. You can come for mini spa treatment (1 to 12 days) or for a traditional spa treatment of 3 weeks. Steam chambers, sweat booths, spa, vaporarium, massages, hydrojets, beauty institute and complete rest are part of the programme...
