Lait'sentiel cosmétiques Other Gers Products in Giroussens

We have been producers of donkey milk since 2021. Our small family farm is located in Giroussens, in the Tarn. Our donkeys are all Baudet du Poitou breeds, an old and endangered breed that we are keen to save. They are raised in the open air and are fed with grass and hay only.

During the summer season, we collect a little milk every day, while leaving the colt with its mother. Unlike other animals, it is impossible to ask a donkey for milk if her young is taken away from her.

The milking is carried out, with delicacy, by hand. It's a special moment with our animals where we give more hugs than we collect milk. We generally obtain between 0.5 and 1 liter of milk per day and per donkey. The donkey does not store her milk as the goat or the cow can do, she only produces her milk “on demand”, within the limit of 6 to 8 liters per day. The rest of the daily production is reserved for the colt.

After each milking, the milk, which is very fragile, is immediately filtered, packaged and lowered to a very low temperature for optimum respect of its qualities. This milk is then transformed by a soap maker into natural cosmetics(soaps, lip balm, body milk, hand cream) which are sold locally as well as on our website under the registered trademark Lait'sentiel.

Fresh donkey's milk is combined with Tarn honey and organic plant extracts, such as calendula, chamomile, aloe vera...

The colors and scents are also completely natural.

Donkey's milk, which is closest in composition to human milk, has been recognized as a source of skin benefits for centuries. It nourishes, hydrates and soothes it.
